Problems with oil based primer in a airless spray painter?

I am using oil based primer and the problem i am having is that if i let the primer sit in the machine for literally 5 minutes without using it the thing clogs up or something. So if i need to use the bathroom or whatever then i come back to it 5 minutes later i have to clean the thing out before i can use it again. what is the problem? How long should i be able to let it sit before i start having problems with it when i use oil base primer. Also how long should i be able to let it sit without having problems with non oil based primer?Problems with oil based primer in a airless spray painter?
Use thinner. That is basically what they made paint thinner for. Is to help it not clog. If you keep a small bowl of thinner nearby then just drop the nozzle in and it will not clog up for a while.

Non oil based you can do the same thing.Problems with oil based primer in a airless spray painter?
drop the nozzle of the gun in turps and the will keep the paint soft
