You seem to ignore the ultra rich oil industry lobby, that has GWB in its back pocket. The mega rich military-industrial lobby that supplies most of Bush's cabinet or gives them jobs when they retire.





you also ignore the fact that the dwindling world oil reserves are mostly in unstable countries.





You ignore the fact that of the remaining oil reserves, it isn't mostly sitting in big pools, like under Iraq..it is in the Alberta tarsands, and offshore sites where the cost of extraction is much higher. There may well be oil reserves underneath the Pacific Ocean (I've no idea, I'm not a geologist) but it will never be accessible.





you ignore basic economics of supply and demand. Demand for oil is increasing in places like China and India who aspire to the energy wasting western lifestyle at at time when oil is running out. Increased demand for a scarce product means the price goes up. Economics 101.





You ignore the fact that an illegal war in an attempt to secure cheap oil for Americas gluttony is one of the main factors in sending oil prices soaring, but that's ok, because George's oil buddy's are making obscene profits.





The tanking American economy, again as a direct result of Bush policies also makes everything more expensive for you to buy, though oil pricing is still in US dollars, that won't last.





Better get used to it. The era of cheap oil is over. Done. It was a great century while it lasted, and the whole American Dream lifestyle was unfortunately routed in cheap oil and 2 cars on every driveway.
