I have a ford focus with a 1.6l zetec petrol engine which burns oil intermittently. What is the problem?

The car is 6 years old with 190,000 kilometres on the clock. There are no leaks and no smells. I have a big puff of blue smoke from the exhaust after a long run.I have a ford focus with a 1.6l zetec petrol engine which burns oil intermittently. What is the problem?
Blue smoke is burning fuel, the question is abit vague to answer is it when your accelerating? stopped. If it was burning oil it would be white smoke.I have a ford focus with a 1.6l zetec petrol engine which burns oil intermittently. What is the problem?
Ford focus's are very known for burning oil like crazy. but if it is at the point to where its not drive-ablee, youprobablyy have a problem with your emissions, i would check up on when the last time you past inspection, and i would call up a local mechanic or a Ford Dealer, and ask what they think the problem is
It's an indication of engine wear. As you say it's burnt oil, not fuel. If it's otherwise okay have a mechanic look at it, it could well be rectified.
check the crankcase is properly vented. After a while the pipes become clogged and the casing vents up past the rings, hence the higher oil consumption.
value guides worn out or piston rings worn out.
