Beckett oil burner problem?

I have a beckett oil burner in my boiler. Occasionally it skips. what I mean is that it fire for a second shut off then fires, and so on. Do I need to bleed air from the line?

Thanks!!!Beckett oil burner problem?
you said that you have a boiler with a beckett burner and it fires then shuts off then starts right back up?we would need to know how long it takes the burner to fire plus at what temp the boiler is at. and name, model of burner and boiler, the name and model of the control that is on the burner(it will be on the top of the burner and it will have a red button)

but if the thermostat is calling, and the boiler is below 180-200 and the burner still stops and starts ,the problem might only be the primary control, also (at the boiler control)if you jump the low-voltage wires that are on the other end of the lead that is connected to the thermostat and it runs fine the problem might be in you thermostat be careful because these controls do carry 120 volts and if you jump the wrong wire you will know it the hard way.

It might be safer, easier, and quicker to just call in a tech the problem will be gone foreverBeckett oil burner problem?
Try cleaning the flame sensor,it sounds like its not detecting the main flame and recycling.
