Is it just me or does it seem like the oil problem is the only reason we have a crap economy?

why doesn't congress vote for the easily accessed places to get oil? if they would have supported bush drilling in anwar we might have that gas in the pumps today!!!!Is it just me or does it seem like the oil problem is the only reason we have a crap economy?
my orders are up and projecting higher...

im looking to hire another welder.

the steel is more expensive than its ever been and can sometimes be a pain to get, but other than that, and high gas prices, my ';economy'; isnt doing super great but ive seen it MUCH slower.

the only good thing about the dems blocking drilling is that the oil is still there and eventually even they will be saying we need to get it id bet.

now playing:powers that be - disarrayIs it just me or does it seem like the oil problem is the only reason we have a crap economy?
Maybe oil is the last straw in a long list of government caused problems:

For 25+ years environmentalists and their bought %26amp; paid for liberal government representatives have fought against drilling, refineries, wind farms, solar farms, want to rip out hydroelectric dams.

Government makes it near impossible to start a new business with all the environmental regulations = that's a major reason why it more cost effective to have products produced overseas.

Now the USA may elect an 'empty suit' that will bring more regulations %26amp; taxes. And people believe this will solve our economic problems!?!
No, you have a crappy economy because you're living under a socialist system. Just do the math, take the gross product for a period and the government spending for the same period. Calculate the ratio spending over product, that's the minimum percentage that you're paying extra for everything (and I mean everything) you buy. Every time you spend a buck, that percentage is taken through taxes all the way up to the bottomless pocket of the government and wasted.

Just imagine if your income all of a sudden increases its worth by that percentage, the whole economy would flourish without the drag of the government and all the welfare couch potatoes.
It's more complicated than that, but the high price of oil is making everyone feel the pains. All the homes in foreclosure leading to a whole mess in the housing market is laregly to blame too. All the good paying jobs in the US rely on brainpower, so unless you're a CEO, doctor, pharmascist or some brilliant scientist forget it; there are almost no good paying blue collar jobs left except maybe mechanic - plumbers, electricians are all feeling it from the housing market too. You can thank Reagan for destroying all the unions on that one.
Since Bush took office every time I get a raise it goes for the same amount in gas. I would say that has affected my economy for the last 8 years. I can give a **** how the economy is for the stock traders, is my economy, stupid.
It is JUST YOU!

Either that, or no-one in Washington has your powers of observation and deduction!

And the oh-so-simple answer has been right in front of us all for all these years? Wow, dude you are scary smart!
Thats a big problem, but the real issue is that we are a consumer economy that doesn't produce anything. We import everything and our economy has the services section VERY over-represented.
You still have time to sign up to run for congress next term. Do it and save the nation, and see how easy it is to get things done.
I think the mortgage crisis is the main problem. Lenders gave money out almost freely to people who couldn't afford it and know we are paying for it.
Oil is an excuse. Greed is the reason for everythng that is going on. We all know this.
pelosi and a dem-run legislature. dont forget that dems are in control now.
The high price of GAS makes people think the economy is doing poorly.
