Clumps in a cars motor oil, is this a serious problem?

There is car that I am interested in (1991 Geo Metro), the seems to run good, there's a bit of rust on the body, and a bit on the bottom of the car.





When I went to check the oil, it was black and there's clumps of crap in it. Do these sound like problems that tell me to move on and find another car?Clumps in a cars motor oil, is this a serious problem?

it could have just been that the car was sitting , or that the previous owner didn't get an oil change yet and it needs one. So you would have to drain the oil get a new filter, and I would take off the oil pan right off and clean that all out too, then put some high quality oil to put in it to flush out the lines
