2005 celica oil problem?

I've this car for a year now, and never noticed the manual says to put 5w30. I've been putting 10w30 for the past 30000miles. Should I be worried? Manual says to only use 10w30 if 5w30 is not available, but switch back to 5w30 on the following oil change.2005 celica oil problem?
You shouldn't be that worried. I would just switch back to 5w 30 as soon as possible. Most manuals are just saying that as a precaution, since 5w 30 will give you the maximum performance. Manuals will also tell you to fill up with Premium but as with most cars you can fill them up with regular with no problem since the Knocking sensors will pretty much quiet down the pinging.2005 celica oil problem?
no do not start putting 5w30 in it all owners manuals say that because when something is new it only needs 5w30 but a heavier wieght oil is needed in cars with 30k miles or more .....it never would have hurt to put 20w30 in it ....although you might want to put 5w30 in it during the winter months and it will make your car easier to start because the oil will not be as thick in the cold weather....my advice to you is to always put 10w30 in your cars unless they demand higher.....
If there is no problems for the past 30,000 miles, then i wouldn't say there should be. If you can, raise the car and check the Fluids. (Manual Transmission Cars have a place to check the fluids, it looks sort of like the drain plug of your motor oil.) 5w and 10w is just the weight of the oil. Is the transmission slipping or grinding? If not then just leave it alone.
I would go with 5W -30, both oils provide the same protection when the engine is warmed up to operating temperature. The 5W oil flows better after a cold start, this is where most engine wear occurs.
5W30 i think you should use the one you are using
