Had oil change at jiffy lube; when I pulled out; it stalled out right away; brought it around; and they said they did not do anything wrong?
Drove it 50 miles; it stalled out/engine light when on/
started it up/drove again; then it just cut out again in the intersection/
what could they have done to screw up the car so bad?
any suggestions?
I cant bring it back; the place is 20 miles away.
What should I check.Oil Change by ';Jiffy Lube';-problems.?
Your car ran correctly when you took it into ';Jiffy Lube'; you should have demanded of the manager that ';It ran correctly when I brought it into you people, and it doesn't now. Fix it now, get some one who can fix it, OR ELSE'; and let them figure out the ';OR ELSE'; But since you didn't do that DO NOT DRIVE IT ANYMORE'; Have it towed to the dealer or a good shop you trust, that is certified. If you have AAA they have service shops that can help you. Once they find the problem and fix it, go back to ';Jiffy Lube'; and demand a refund of the service and for them to pay the bill. If they refuse, let them know that the State Department of Automotive Repair will be very interested in their shop over the next few months and that they will be hearing from your attorney shortly.
If you cannot afford that see if you can find the problem yourself or get a friend that is a mechanic to help you.
The possiblility of a vacuum line being knocked off is very real. They usually check the air filter also and there are lines from it to the vacuum source too. I had the same problem and it was indeed a vacuum line. Car ran like it ate a barrel of rattlesnakes. Look very closely around any place they may have looked during the service. They may have also broken a plastic vacuum manifold that other lines plug into.Oil Change by ';Jiffy Lube';-problems.?
They may have accidentally knocked a vacuum hose off...look for any small black hoses not attached to anything.
They just change oil and lube the chasis...it wouldn't profit them to mess with your car....like other mechanics would.
I never get my oil changed at Jiffy Lube..
1. They are rude
2. They are over priced
3. They have long lines
I would highly suggest going to an oil change place near you and explain to them what is going on, where you got it done the last time. I'm sure they would be able to help you out and will understand what happened. I get mine changed at my car wash place...get a free car wash and an oil change for $24.99. It is the same kind of oil they put in the car that they do at Jiffy Lube, JL just charges more for man power which is a total rip off. Good luck in getting your problem fixed.
YOU SHOULD CHECK THE INTELIGENCE OF THE FDRIVER WHO DROVE 50 MILES BEFORE NOTICING A PROBLEM!!!
Make sure the oil cap and dipstick are securely in place. The closed crankcase venting system will send incorrect signals to the engine control computer if their is a vacuum leak around these items.
