oil pressure usually is in the center of the gage. sometimes the oil pressure gage is about 1/3 mark, never below that, never above the 1/2 mark.Does fluctuation in oil pressure mean there is a problem?
Thats fine. As long as the oil pressure never drops to 0 then your ok. ususaly at idle it can be a little on the low side, and around 2,000 rpm should be around the middle or 2/3 of the gauge. In your case its perfectly fine. Nothing to be worried about. BUT if u look down and see that guage at 0, or see the oil light come on, pull over FAST!!!
My girilfriends toyota had the oil pump go out and the light turned on and guage read 0.
By any chance does it tell you the oil pressure psi??
Oh yeah, if u have 40psi while driving or when warmed up, bro thats normal. Don't sweat it. Its good.Does fluctuation in oil pressure mean there is a problem?
Oil pressure is directly related to engine speed. It is normal for pressure to fluctuate a little at idle. The reason the gage is there is if the pressure drops down below 8 then there is something to worry about, turn off the engine immediately check that the engine has oil.
should be safe its flowing
