Seems to me it willDue to oil and other problems, do you think we will head to anothe Great Deppression?
No !
Re-read your history and take a semester or two studying Economics.
There are few if any correlations.Due to oil and other problems, do you think we will head to anothe Great Deppression?
I think we're headed that way... The bad news is with the depression, there was something we could do (create jobs) to get through it. With this crisis, there is no real answer other than a total shift in our energy policy which is something that will take at least 20 years. Our economy, our life, hinges on energy, whether electric for our homes, gas and electric to heat our homes and of course fuel for our automobiles. You have inflation of prices while inflation in terms of wages and homes is non existent. These are very scary times. If prices of fuel continue to rise much more, it will cripple our economy. The middle class (largest percentage of the pop.) will not be able to afford to purchase the goods that make the upper class wealthy and pay other middle and lower class workers. This will lead to further unemployment and start a terrible cycle. It's a cycle that could lead to another great depression, most definitely.
No. The difficulties currently experienced in the world economy and that of the US is nowhere near the magnitude of that of the Great Depression. There is infrastructure currently in place that will prevent the massive bank failures experienced in that time period.
no because if you look up what acually the great depression was it had to do with money not oil it had to do with people acaully it had to do with more people tring to earn mony insted of spend it and then couldnt get out of the debt!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
when the general public spends more then they make and are unable to pay their bills and their wages do not keep up with the cost of living there is a major problem and it can cause a depression and we most definitely are going in that direction
Honestly I see the signs that we are heading there, and I have thought about it possibly happening. I just hope that this next President will work extra hard with the rest of the government to stop it from happeneing.
yup, its a definite possiblity...FDR pulled us out of the depression, built the strongest middle class in history that made this country great, and the republicans have been trying to dismantle it ever since...I think they've brought us back to 1929
we should be in one now. However, the manipulation of precious metals (IE. gold and silver) has balanced the value of the dollar. So, i guess my answer is we wont be so long as this is being done.
No chance. Great Depression and Depression are two different things. There will never be another great depression with all the social programs the government set up in the 30's.
It's very possible. Things are much worse than we know. I remember discussions with people who lived during the Great Depression, and how horrible life had become for them -- losing everything -- so today's patterns seem similar.
We pray it won't happen. Maybe the oil problems and sky rocketting prices will only be a minor glitche and riside after a new president takes over.
Scary to think so though.
America is heading fast into depression, it almost seems like the government is doing it on purpose.
yes, unless the stock market crashes
and i've heard it might due to rice and gas prices
and all the other stuff going on
Not really because the Great Depression hapened when the stock market crashed and some of our stocks are really good now.
Let's hope. Hopefully will get rid of our lovely president before that happens but then again it does happen it will be his gift to us before he leaves with his pockets full.
Economics shows that another depression is very unlikely.
Absolutely!!!!!!!!!
I think so. It's my biggest fear at the moment; the whole situation makes me unbearably nervous.
humm no... seems to me you are uneducated.
Im thinking yes. Actually me and my friends were just talking about that.
no, the banks ran put of money, they cant now, its impossible
we're definitely entering a recession
Yes, and I'm so excited.
nope i hope not
yeah
I think we're already heading that way.
Not only I think, I know it.
we are pretty close, consumer spending is at an all time low coupled with the burst in real estate it will be a long time before we all see the light again.
god i hope not if gas gets to 4.50 a gallon im riding my bike
Yes the US will. Thankfully I don't live in the US. We will be hit but not nearly as hard.
